Group Class: 11+ English Summer Camp

Service Description

This group class runs throughout the summer and ensures your child's English skills are honed and ready for a range of 11+ exams. The classes cover: Comprehension using G.L, C.E.M. and private school materials to cover both multiple choice and written answers which will develop students' vocabulary, inference, predictive, explanatory, retrieval and summarising skills. Creative comprehension which involves the integration of reading both text and secondary sources such as charts, graphs and diagrams to answer questions. Verbal reasoning where students learn to solve language based word puzzles. Creative writing. Students may be asked in their exams to produce either a descriptive, persuasive, informative or instructional piece of writing. Each style of writing needs its own toolkit of literary devices and structural features. Over their course, the classes will practice a full range of creative writing so that students can produce a fantastic piece of work that will reward them with lots of credit!
